The Daesan Literary Awards(대산문학상) are amongst the most prestigious in Korea and are given in the categories of poetry (including sijo), fiction, drama, criticism, and translation. Works from each of these genres, published within the last two years, are selected for initial consideration and after screening and short-listing, a second jury makes the final selection. If the judges believe there is no work of merit for a particular category, that category is not awarded. The prize is associated with a monetary award of 50 million won, and the total amount of 200 million won makes the Daesan Literary Awards the largest set of literary prizes awarded in Korea.
